Decorating is sustained work at a face — long reaches, repeated strokes, a kettle of paint always in hand. That is exactly the work pattern where a tower repays itself over ladders: both hands free, materials on the deck, guardrails doing the balancing.

Inside: ceilings and stairwells

For rooms, a low folding tower or podium at 0.5–1 m platform covers standard ceilings and goes through doorways assembled. The classic decorator's problem is the stairwell — a tall void over stepped ground. Purpose-made stairwell configurations with adjustable legs build a level platform over the flight, turning the worst job in the house into a normal one. Never improvise a stairwell setup from planks and ladders.

Outside: render, fascias and gables

Exterior decorating runs the full height of the property: platforms around 3.6–4.2 m for two-storey eaves, 5.2 m+ for gables.
